Our Professional Therapy services include one live virtual session each week with daily client practice sessions. Virtual sessions are conducted via Zoom. Each live session is about 45 minutes long and uses a variety of online tools to engage clients in the lessons. The lessons will address various areas of literacy, spending more time on areas of difficulty.
Practice sessions are IMPORTANT for adequate growth, helping to create neuropathways in the brain necessary for reading success! Each client practices for 4+ days (about 15 min each time) doing various online activities (games) specifically tailored to the client's needs. There is additional parent/guardian-led practice to help our clients even further. A therapist is always available throughout the week for consultation should any problems arise.
Helping our clients requires teamwork! Our therapists partner with parents/guardians to ensure the best service for your child. To enable this teamwork, one parent/guardian must be present for each 45 minute teletherapy session. We will conference at the end of each session (about 5 min) to discuss progress and address any concerns or questions you may have.
Our Basic Therapy services include parent-led sessions using an online curriculum, similar to the curriculum used in Professional Therapy. Each session is about 45-60 mins long, is scripted (making it easy for the parent), and allows for interaction with the child (making it interesting for the child.) Daily practice sessions are required (4 minimum) to progress to the next level. A Dyslexia Therapist is always available by phone, text, or email to discuss curriculum-related questions. One-time sessions are also available, for a fee, to address more specific concerns related to your child.
Clients do NOT need to be diagnosed with dyslexia or dysgraphia in order to use our services! Our Dyslexia Therapy services are designed to help any client having difficulty in reading, writing, spelling, handwriting, or comprehension. During our first Professional Therapy session, each client is given a battery of diagnostic assessments. Although these assessments are not designed to officially diagnose dyslexia, they will give a detailed analysis of the client's strengths and weaknesses in literacy.
